Revision: 1.5

Problem:

After installing the [Enterprise] Random Password Manager website with the dashboards enabled, subsequent attempts to view the dashboards are met with errors such as:

Code:
Could not load type 'Sytem.ServiceModel.Activation.HttpModule' from assembly 'System.ServiceModel, Version=3.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublickeyToken=TokenKeyGoesHere'

Cause:

Please be sure that both .net framework 3.51 and .net framework v4.x are installed on the web server. If they both are, please run the following two commands on your E/RPM web server host from an administrative command prompt then try again:

  • %windir%\microsoft.net\framwork\v4.0.30319\aspnet_ regiis -ir
  • %windir%\microsoft.net\framwork64\v4.0.30319\aspne t_regiis -ir

Errors like this occur when the order of installation of IIS v .net framework 4 are done where.net framework 4 is installed prior to IIS: ASP.NET IIS Registration Tool (Aspnet_regiis.exe).

Applies To:

  • Enterprise Random Password Manager (ERPM)
  • Random Password Manager (RPM)
