Rev: 2.2
Date: 04/05/2013

You have installed the web application portion of Enterprise / Random Password Manager, Account Reset Console, Password Recovery Console or Web Reporting for User Manager Pro on your web server but receive HTTP Error 404 - File or directory not found. Internet Information Services (IIS) when attempting to access the website.

Lieberman Software web products require the use of Active Server Pages. Active Server Pages, by default, are prohibited in default installations of IIS on Server 2003 and 2008.

In Server 2008 - 2012, if your website is configured to require SSL encryption you will receive this error if you specify HTTP instead of HTTPS.

For Server 2003, allow Active Server Pages under the Web Service Extensions in IIS:

Start | All Programs | Administrative Tools | Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager | expand the machine upon which you’ve installed the website in the tree pain | highlight Web Service Extensions. In the details pain, select Active Server Pages and select Allow.

For Server 2008 - 2012, allow Active Server Pages by installing it:

Server Manager | Roles | Web Server (IIS) | "Role Services Area" and click the "Add Role Services" link. Under the "Application Development" heading, select ASP. If prompted to install ISAPI Extensions, please elect to do so.

Applies To:

All Lieberman Software web based solutions or solutions employing ASP in part:

Random Password Manager (website portion)
Enterprise Random Password Manager (website portion)
Web Reporting for User Manager Pro
Password Recovery Console
Account Reset Console
